Wir hörten über Glück und Segen, aber was anders ist Wahrheit? Wir hörten auch über jene die nach Wahrheit am suchen waren. Aber das in gleicher Weise vergebens wie das Suchen nach Glück. Denn beide, Glück und Wahrheit müssen und werden dich finden. Auf diese Weise hat dein Kind dich gefunden.

In German language it is not clear from where the word GLÜCK (“good luck, happiness, fortune, bliss“) came to exist. I guess there must be a relation between German GLÜCK and LÜCKE, alike as regards content the riming English expressions HAP and GAP.

One meaning is the German GLÜCK came from the potters’ language having to do with the lid fitting on a pot without having a gap between the cover and its body beneath. That’s why I am thinking of a closed gap being a reason to be thankful to “hap“. Maybe that’s only a pun,
